2027 WMBA Rep/Select Tryout Form

Hi Everyone,

We are excited to open up Registration for Rep/Select for the 2027 Season. We plan to field Rep/Select teams as indicated below:

Rep

8U(2019), 9U(2018), 10U(2017), 11U(2016), 12U(2015), 13U(2014), 14U(2013), 15U(2012), 18U(2009-11). If enough interest we may field a standalone 16U team (2011)

Select

9U(2018-19), 11U(2016-17), 13U(2014-15), 15U(2012-2013), 18U (2009-11). Select teams will be assessed based on interest and skill level and we may decide to not field in team in one or more divisions.

Pre Tryouts Sept 8-10

Eligible to all Rep, Select and House League who were registered with WMBA in 2026

These will consist of 1-1.5 hours skill development, no assessments of the players will take place during the Pre Tryouts

Rep Tryouts Sept 13-24

Players must attend at least two tryouts to be eligible for the team; releases may occur after the 2nd tryout date.

Any player who is not a Welland residence and not rostered to a Welland Rep team in 2026 must get a release from your home association. We will provide more details around this when schedules come out.

*if you were a player on the waitlist you can tryout for 2027 Rep team

Select Tryouts Sept 27-30

Select player are encouraged to tryout out for the Rep team in their age group as there will only be 2 sessions for Select following the Rep tryouts.

*all Select Players must be rostered to WMBA in 2027

Tryout Schedule (dates/locations/time subject to change)

*Players must attend at least 2 tryout dates, unless there is an explicit approval granted in writing by the VP Rep or President of WMBA.

**Exceptions for those trying out for regional teams at the 13U and above level will be considered if times conflict

***Exceptions for players who want to play in an older division on a case by case basis
